Global Initiatives<\/strong><\/h2><\/div><\/div><\/div>AIESEC x WLCUY<\/strong><\/p>\nAn agreement was reached with the AIESEC Lebanon branch in April 2019, teaming up to present WLCU Youth members with special conditions to facilitate their participation in AIESEC summer opportunities offered in Lebanon. The opportunities focus on empowering young people to make a progressive social impact through leadership development, cross-cultural internships, and global volunteer exchange experiences, in collaboration with NGOs like 26 Letters, Kunhadi, and Makhzoumi Foundation, among others.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

<\/span><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>Feel Lebanon<\/strong><\/h2><\/div><\/div><\/div>Feel Lebanon is a 3-day campaign held annually in November, consisting of events organized by each of the WLCUY member institutions. The purpose of this campaign is to share Lebanese culture and traditions through events uniting Lebanese and non-Lebanese communities in order to celebrate, educate, and commemorate Lebanon on the month it celebrates its independence.<\/p>\n<\/div>
<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>Lebanese American University<\/strong><\/h2><\/div><\/div><\/div>The WLCUY and the Lebanese American University (LAU) signed a memorandum of understanding to discuss issues of common interest and to coordinate work programs and support mutual efforts, with a focus primarily on programs and workshops related to the Arabic language and the Lebanese dialect. The relationship has materialized through the LAU Byblos Campus hosting the WLCUY World Congress in July 2019, the joint participation at UNESCO\u2019s World Arabic Day event \u201cThe Arabic Language: Roots, Forms and Globalization\u201d, and partial scholarships for summer Arabic courses for WLCUY members.<\/p>\n
Most recently, LAU\u2019s SINARC program offered an interactive online Lebanese Dialect workshop free of charge for WLCUY members, and the WLCU Youth awarded scholarships for its members to study in SINARC\u2019s Arabic Online courses.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

<\/span><\/div><\/div><\/div>WLCU Youth Community Talks<\/strong><\/h2><\/div><\/div><\/div>Born out of the need to adapt during the COVID-19 pandemic, the WLCU Youth Community Talks initiative aimed to bring Lebanon and its diaspora closer together through online conferences, with guest speakers from all corners of the world sharing their experiences and knowledge on a variety of subjects related to Lebanon. The opening series of Community talks featured online conferences held in various languages, focusing on arts, cultural heritage, diaspora migration, gastronomy, geopolitics, history, the Phoenicians and their negotiation skills, and the situation in Lebanon immediately after the August 4th explosion in Beirut.<\/p>\n<\/div>

LEBolution<\/h2><\/div><\/div><\/div>LEBolution is our youth conference focusing on cultural and humanitarian activities. Every two years the WLCUY holds its World Youth Congress \u201cLEBolution\u201d, connecting 200 youth from over 17 different countries exploring all corners of the country together, while taking part in a variety of activities: cultural events, volunteering activities, meeting outstanding personalities of the country, holding forums to exchange visions about the present and future of Lebanon, among many more.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nThe goal of LEBolution 2025<\/strong> is to organize a trip that will be rich in cultural experiences and centered around community service, with potential opportunities for volunteering activities. A common feeling amongst the youth worldwide is being uncertain on what more to do to help Lebanon. Working alongside and in collaboration with local NGOs active on the ground, the hope is that together, we will be able to unite and do good for Lebanon, while also exploring and absorbing the beauty of the land.<\/p>\n<\/div>
